I had to look the next bit up. I'd forgotten Finrod gave the fortress to his brother Orodreth however I did remember Sauron over took the 'tower of guard' and the short of it was poor Finrod and company died there.

The original name was Bagshot Row. The hobbits considered Battle Gardens or Better Smials, but New Row was the sensible name. "It was a purely Bywater joke to refer to it as Sharkey's End"Philipa wrote:
