Yes! It was Legolas. I remember liking that line when I read LOTR as a child because I always liked 'the green smell' of spring--it's a perfect description. And I can see how doing this in translation would be doubly difficult--so congratulations!
I don't remember much German at all, sadly, but I think your quote is 'Behold, the White Rider.' _________________ Sing and be glad, all ye children of the West,

correct! Well done Merry!
But sometimes the two languages are nearly the same/similar in pronunciation ..white = weiß , rider = Reiter.
Therefore i choose this quote. For the others, that don't speak german, i thought, that the Translation of the the three words (seht/sehen, white, rider), would lead them to right guess. |

In the book, I think it was Aragorn who says: 'Behold the White Rider' _________________ "Elan sila lumenn omentielvo" |

No need to apologize, phyloxera! I thought that since it was your question, it wasn't my place to approve the answer. But don't worry about the time elapsed: we often joke that our pace in these threads is a bit Entish! We're all busy people in the Real World and that comes first.

Thanks for the lovely hint! This is just a guess, but I think it is Sam, said to Gollum. _________________ Sing and be glad, all ye children of the West,
