Good guess, serinde, but no, the speaker is not Haldir.

I guess bruce rerek has gone off into the Wild again, so I'll give the next quote!

Who said, "There are no folk like hobbits after all for a real good talk"?
Sing and be glad, all ye children of the West,
for your King shall come again,
and he shall dwell among you
all the days of your life.

Who says:

"That, I guess, is the language of the Rohirrim, for it is like to this land itself; rich and rolling in part, and else hard and stern as the mountains."

We seem to be all alone in here, serinde!

I'll guess the speaker is Legolas. It might have been Gimli, but I don't think he would have made such a perceptive remark.

Sam to the reluctant Gollum he was trying to send on an errand for the third time.
Many live who deserve death; some die who deserve life--can you give it to them, Frodo? Do not be so quick to deal out death in judgment. Even the wisest cannot see all ends.

It's good to be back after an awful year! Like coming home. Now for the quote--"I left a fool."

Welcome home, then! I remember you telling us about some of what happened during the past year, but I hope all is getting much better. I'm not just saying this to be thematic, but I find that reading Tolkien soothes the soul in troubled times!

And I don't know the speaker of your quote. :?

all the days of your life.

Thank you Merry--it is getting better in most ways. Now for a hint--it's a bad guy in TTT.
