As I posted over at V-W ... Final piece for that art show on November ...
Autumn Comes to the Shire

First Try ... Remember this? Now reminds me of a King Arthur Flour ad.

Pretty, pretty, pretty! I really like the way you have reimagined this scene.

Not sure that I like one over the other! I'm enjoying the way you and all of our artists find different ways to make and then use a frame in your art. I don't think I realized how important that was before.

Good luck in your upcoming show!

I know I commented on this over at V-W, but I do love the later version better because the flour and sugar aren't there. Though I also love that lovely blue in the top version too!

How is the exhibition work going, Riv? When is it in November? We expect to hear all about it!

Thanks ladies! :D

Yesterday I got an order from a woman who runs a craft pattern business in Texas for 1 each of the Songs of Middle-earth and the Best Places in Middle-earth calendars. A nice unexpected sale. :D

I did put a note on the packing list that using the images for patterns would require the purchase of a 'right to use' as they are copyrighted.

Patterns like that would be a dream come true for me! I'd love to work on those. I'm assuming it would be some form of counted cross-stitch.

That's so exciting!

Perhpas you should offer them?! Your designs would work very well for that.

I hope you will take photos of the exhibition (if they let you) because you know we would love to see them  .

My Mallorn and Amon Hen have just arrived and I see Marbretherese's painting 'He cast him a lappett' and her Tuor poem are there! And you have two of your new-style Tolkien paintings too, Riv :D . My Treebeard painting was supposed to be in it, but somehow it isn't :( . Don't know what happened there.... maybe it will be in the next one. But I see my Treebeard drawing (a portrait) is in Amon Hen. I'd forgotten I'd sublmitted it as it was a while ago!

I love the new Jef Murray paintings in Mallorn. A bit different from usual.

Congratulations, RR and Marbretherese! It's great to get exposure in those publications.

RR, I'm going to miss having a Rabbit Ridge calendar on my wall this year. :(

Apologies Merry. I just didn't feel right putting up the floral calendar with the Hobbit names and calling it a Tolkien calendar. (:-X

Have plans to do a proper Tolkien calendar for 2012.

Gosh! I haven't received my copies of Mallorn or Amon Hen yet. I'd forgotten they were due - now I want to see what my stuff looks like!! . . . shame about the Treebeard painting, Iolanthe, perhaps Henry's holding it over to the next issue!
