Merry, you are correct in that the true colors I used on Goblin-gate do not show well on the jpg file. They are washed out. The original piece has the colors deeper and a wee bit more vibrant. I will work on it over the weekend to see if I can't get it to show better here.

But ... having said that, I will admit to thinking about making the colors 'slimier' when I was doing the piece and it just didn't come out right ... virtually a black and white. So, using artistic license

I opted for a greener landscape. After all, the orcs and goblins only come out at night ... right?

True, RR, they only came out at night, but they would have trampled and poisoned anything green that was in the vicinity, right?

I agree! I also like the way her dress sort of blends into the landscape and flora, sort of like the landscape clothes her or she is present behind the scenes in it. And again, your technique of a sort of limited palette really works here, too.

I like the textures in this, Riv, as well as the colours - particularly the boards on the jetty, and the reflections in the water.

Good subject, too--I can think of only one other depiction of Laketown, and that would be the Professor's own.
