Hi everyone, i've been a fan of Tolkien since my brother got the trilogy and encouraged me to read them (some 25 years ago) and am i glad he did, now i've got my own collection which has grown steadily over the years.
I'd love to be able to read and talk with other fans and hopefully staighten out some of the queries i have.

I wasn't sure where to post this, but joining this board has inspired me to buy The Unfinished Tales. I can't wait to start reading it!! :jump:
I must warn you in advance, I do the most terrible typos, so please be assured, my spelling is fine - my typing is lousy!!!

What can you see on the horizon? Why do the white gulls call? Across the sea, the pale moone rises, the ships have come to carry you home.

Well I have started reading them. I found the inro a bit hard going. I felt a bit like " Can we just start please and let me make my own mind up!".
But I guest Christopher felt he had to set the scene for his editing.
(It's just that I felt the scene took up most of the first act!!
)
Anyway, now I have started, I really like it. It's so lovely to know that in the reading of Tolkien, LOTR was not the end. I know how sad I was to reach the end of the trilogy and I still am every time I re-read it.

Saesa omentien lle, im Aniron: AKA Viggolove72 at the appropriate forums...
I read 'The Hobbit' in high school, and didn't touch any Tolkien 'til FotR came to the big screen, then I was whisked away to a wonderful place that RL just can't compare to. I have tried unsuccessfully to read The Sil, but have fell blissfully asleep to Martin Shaw whispering sweet Arda in my ear. Don't think I've gotten past the first chapter yet! LOL
Am enthralled and bemused by Tolkien, all of the time; real life keeps interrupting my progress...
Oio naa elealla alasse'
Doing a bit of Elvish study too...

Hi Leggy, I'm not sure if we've met! I've never used this name as an ID before...Viggolove(72) is my usual moniker, as I haunt more than one of his fan forums. He is my one-true-love: Everything else is a bonus!
