I just finished watching some video at TOR.n of a press conference of Bilbo and the dwarves--what a group of guys! Wonderfully different looks and voices and personalities, and it looks like they're having fun!

I really enjoyed it. There's a clip of it here for anyone who hasn't seen it yet :D .

I think this is a taster of what fun all those extras will be - something I'm looking forward too as much as the actual films!

I've been reading about the earthquake that hit New Zealand today and saw some terrible pictures of injured people. So sad to know such lovely people are suffering.

Funny that I don't recall any speculation about this, but that Ngila lady who was the costume designer for LOTRs is not going to fill the same role in 'The Hobbit' movie. That's kind of sad. I wonder who it will be.

I didn't know that, Merry. I think it would be hard to maintain continuity without her ... but maybe that is not seen as important. :?

I would think anyone who took on the job would be of like mind. They have to stay on course with the already established M-e fashions wouldn't you think?

I would have thought so - plus I expect that a lot of the team that worked with Ngila will be on board. It appears to be down to schedule clashes - maybe all those endless delays have taken their toll? But I would have thought they were well past the design stage for all of the costumes :-k.

I just saw at TOR.n that Stuart Townsend has been signed to play Bard the Bowman. I'm not thrilled.

But wait! Maybe this is TOR.n annual April Fool's Day joke? 8)

Oh yeah it was.

And BTW, Peter Jackson has a Facebook page now. I'm not so sure how often he'll update the over 125 thousand followers.

So much fun watching PJ's Hobbit video, which is also posted at TOR.n. I'm still loving Richard Armitage! It's weird seeing PJ both thinner and older!

I agree. Except for his appearance though it seems like yesterday. The scene in bag end ought to be interesting with all that manly/dwarfish bulk in that little room. lol

I just saw at TOR.n that PJ has recast Fili and finally cast Thranduil. I don't know who either of them is, but my lord, another two mighty fine looking males!
