Quel point faible de Smaug a découvert Bilbo ?

Re: Tolkien Trivia
Pardons, Michka! I was having a bit of trouble translating and then forgot about your question. But I think the answer is that Bilbo discovered that Smaug had a weak point: a bare spot in the left breast that was not encrusted by gems. This becomes important information later, of course!

Re: Tolkien Trivia
One of the things I'm looking forward to in the Hobbit movie is the depiction of 'An Unexpected Party' and the lovely array of English food that Bilbo is obliged to pull out of his larders (note the plural!) to feed his guests. Bombur must have had a particular love for larders! What did Bombur ask Bilbo to bring out for supper?

Yes, indeed! I love it when Tolkien writes about food!

Dans le rocher, comment l'ouverture est-elle découverte? Et que porte Thorin autour du cou?

cette question reste sans réponse, faut-il la reformuler ou donner un indice? Y-a-t-il quelqu'un ici?

Re: Tolkien Trivia
It's not Christmas that has me occupied as much as the end of the semester, Michka! But I think I can answer your questions: Bilbo and the dwarves were lucky to arrive at the door on Durin's Day, when the sun's last rays pointed out the door and keyhole. Thorin, of course, wore the key he had inherited around his neck. Lucky day!

Re: Tolkien Trivia
Thanks: I had to look up 'grive', though--it doesn't come up often in high school French!
The next question: Why is Thorin called 'Oakenshield'?

Re: Tolkien Trivia
Thorïn est appelé Oakenshield parce qu'il est grand(pour un nain,je suppose) et cela se traduit par:''Bouclier de Chêne'';ce personnage est très hautain, fier.
Est-ce la bonne réponse?
