It might be a translation issue, Michka, you're right. Here's a good clue: it happens around the Battle of the Five Armies.
Sing and be glad, all ye children of the West,
for your King shall come again,
and he shall dwell among you
all the days of your life.

Happy March, everyone--spring is near!

Time to put this question to rest, I think. The speaker here is poor Bilbo, miserable at the Battle of the Five Armies at what is going on. It is very near the end of the chapter "The Clouds Burst". Michka, I'd be interested to know how this is translated into French--it is somewhat of an idiom.

Here is another to ponder, keeping the theme of misery: Who asked, "Who are these miserable persons?"?
Sing and be glad, all ye children of the West,
for your King shall come again,
and he shall dwell among you
all the days of your life.

The Mayor of Laketown? I know this quote but I'm scratching my head for who said it.

A very helpful clue! This is the raftsman who was helping to shove the barrels toward Laketown, some of them with dwarves inside! They noticed that some of the barrels were floating deeper than others and were wanting to see what was in them, but the raftsman said that there was no time for this.

Here's another question: Who said, "I hear your breath"?
Sing and be glad, all ye children of the West,
for your King shall come again,
and he shall dwell among you
all the days of your life.

Je pense à Smaug, quand Bilbo s'est approché invisible par son anneau, page 230/ ''Information secrète''/
Si la réponse est bonne, voici: qui dit''Vous ne savez pas tout''?

Your turn--

Yes, it has been quiet around here, Michka! I think we have taken our Tolkien discussions over to our sister-site, Viggo Works.

I'll look this weekend. Is it in The Hobbit?

I hope you have a nice trip, Michka--a nice vacation?

I found it! Bilbo says it to Smaug as a taunt.

Did I find it in time? :D
