OK, here goes:

to whom was the Red Arrow given, and why?

(I'd like to think this was a Level 2 question but it's probably Level 1 . . . )

The red arrow with black feathers was sent from Denethor, by the messenger Hirgon, to Theoden of Rohan to summon his aid in Gondor's peril by the forces of Mordor.

I was in Gondoin when it fell and passed out of knowlege until the third age. For a while I was a guest of the Huggins, and I was there at endless stair. I passed over the sea to the undying lands with the last of the Elves? Who am I?

Level 2.4 hint: not a man nor elf.

Philipa, I thought that Frodo gave Sting to Sam. Perhaps it is Glamdring? Although, I thought it was generally not known if Gandalf took Glamdring with him to the Undying Lands.
