Aredhel is not the "White Lady" in question. She was never officially called "The Intercessor."

Come to think of it, this may be more of a level 2.5 - 3.0 question. We're looking for a "White Lady" with MANY names.

All that keeps coming into my mind is Galadriel...but beyond that I'm drawing a blank...

Nope, it isn't Galadriel. Hmmm . . . there is a lovely song associated with this "White Lady."

The only other 'White Lady' I know of is Eowyn.

There is also a White Lady of Emerie, wife of Tar Aldarion. Sader tale than that of Gondolin; ah the lives of Tolkien female characters. :(

You're close Bruce! What is Elbereth's name when the elves appeal to her as "The Intercessor"?

Fanuilos?
Sing and be glad, all ye children of the West,

If I was the door man and had to announce Elbereth, I would have to say: Varda Elentari, The Kindler, Lady of the Stars, Tintalle.

Yes, Merry! When the elves appeal to Elbereth for aid, they call upon her as Fanuilos:

Fanuilos, le linnathon nef aear, sí nef aearon!

According to J.E.A. Tyler in his work The Tolkien Companion:
Fanuilos One of the ceremonial titles of ELBERETH, in her aspect as divine or demiurgic intercessary. In this role she was often thought of as standing on the slopes of Mount Oiolosse, radiant with inner (divine) light, arms uplifted as she listened to invocations for aid from Men and Elves.
I'm not sure how we proceed here. Bruce guessed the correct personage, but Merry supplied the correct name, which was the original question. I guess Merry gives us the next question?

By the way, Varda/Elbereth/Fanuilos is definitely the ultimate Tolkien "White Lady." Among Men, one of her other names is Lady Everwhite.

Bruce, I got nothin'! It'll take me a while to think up something, so if you have a burning trivia question, be my guest!

Okay, I have one. I'd say this might be level 1.5.

What is the name of the third day of the week in the Elvish calendar?
Sing and be glad, all ye children of the West,
for your King shall come again,
and he shall dwell among you
all the days of your life.
