What is Erukyermë and in which land was it celebrated?

According to the Encyclopedia of Arda:

Erukyermë -- The spring prayer of the King of Númenor: One of three annual celebrations held on the summit of the Meneltarma in the heart of Númenor (the others being the Erulaitalë and the Eruhantalë). The Erukyermë was held at the beginning of each spring. The King, followed by a silent crowd, would climb the mountain on foot, and at its peak utter a prayer for the approaching year. Traditionally, three eagles, known by the Númenóreans as the Witnesses of Manwë, would hover over the King and his people at this time.

Sounds like quite a beautiful ceremony!

From "Of the Noldor in Beleriand" in The Silmarillion:

Now King Finrod Felagund [he was King of Nargothrond] had no wife, and Galadriel [his sister] asked him why this should be; but foresight came upon Felagund as she spoke, and he said: "An oath I too shall swear, and must be free to fulfill it, and go into darkness. Nor shall anything of my realm endure that a son should inherit."
But it is said that not until that hour had such cold thoughts ruled him; for indeed she whom he had loved was Amarie of the Vanyar, and she went not with him into exile.

And what oath did Finrod Felagund swear? From "Of the Ruin of Beleriand" in The Silmarillion:

But Barahir the brother of Bregolas was in the fighting further westward, near to the Pass of Sirion. There King Finrod Felagund, hastening from the south, was cut off from his people and surrounded with a small company in the Fen of Serech; and he would have been slain or taken, but Barahir came up with the bravest of his men and rescued him, and made a wall of spears about him; and they cut their way out of battle with great loss. Thus Felagund escaped, and returned to his deep fortress of Nargothrond; but he swore an oath of abiding friendship and aid in every need to Barahir and all his kin, and in token of his vow he gave to Barahir his ring.

Thus, the Ring of Barahir comes into the story, and the oath that eventually sends Finrod Felagund with Beren on the quest to retrieve a Silmaril as bride price for the hand of Luthien, a quest that resulted in the death of Felagund before Luthien and Huan could arrive to save Beren.

And all because a certain Vanyar Lady decided she didn't want to travel . . .

Hee! EL, I have come SO CLOSE to buying my own "Aragorn engagement ring" on many, many occasions. In fact, in response to one of the many times my husband has informed me that I am a true "over the moon" Tolkien fanatic, I told him, "Not yet. You'll know I'm really gone when I'm sporting my very own Ring of Barahir on my left hand. Until then, I'm still saner than you are during the NFL season!"

(Hmmm . . . must go look at pretty Barahir ring on website again . . . we wants it, Precious, yes, Yes!)

Yes, Lindariel I am definitely over the moon for Tolkien...My husband if he were still with us would really have appreciated the irony of my purchasing the "Aragorn Engagement Ring"...our daughter well she thinks I've gone round the bend...

They were all golden-haired because they were descended from the Fair Elves.

Yes, indeed: Galadriel, Glorfindel, and Gildor Inglorion were among these. (Which means, I think, that they got Legolas wrong in the movies!) Galadriel was the sister of Finrod: I wonder if it was weird for her to see her brother's ring on Aragorn's hand.

In Beleriand, there were "...three thunderous towers, belching smoke and reek..." What were they called in Westron and in Elvish? Over what gate did they tower?
