Is the question a dud? Do you need a hint?

It's definitely not a dud, Philipa. Sometimes it takes a while for someone to respond. I usually wait a few days before chiming in to give others a chance to participate.

I'm afraid this answer comes straight out of a reference book.
The Noontide of Valinor is "the period of the greatest bliss of Valinor", beginning with "the chaining of Melkor and the arrival in Eldamar of the Three Kindreds," and ending with "the poisoning of the Two Trees and the revolt of the Noldor." It lasted for three ages.

Then I guess I'd better find a question that's not in that book!
I'll be back soon.

I've come up with a level 2 question:
What is another name for "Waterfall of Echoing Voices," who lived there, and who was named after it?

I noticed Philipa asked for help on this question on another board.
Perhaps it's time for a hint?
It's not the handbag guy.

Lanthir Lamath
'Waterfall of Echoing Voices', where Dior had his house in Ossiriand, and after which his daughter Elwing 'Starspray' was named.

Let's do an easy
Level 1 ...
Name the 13 Dwarves that accompanied Bilbo on his first adventure. Try to do it without looking them up.
Bonus points: How was the leader's hood distingiushed from the others.

I could answer, Riv, but I won't. Getting ready to leave on a business trip and probably won't be able to check into MeJ for several days. Wouldn't be fair.
This is a fun question, everybody! Give it a try! Have a great time while I'm in the "salt mines."
