My first post...
Hullo,
My name is Beren and I found this site by searching around for some Tolkien news... maybe some people do know me in here since I have been using the nickname Beren since 1996 on numerous Tolkien related boards.
I'm now 28 years and live in Belgium... and been reading Tolkien since age 6, collecting Tolkien books since I was 11 and have now a very large book collection. I'm the man behind the website Tolkienlibrary.com and hope to find some amusement here... and interesting topics to talk about.

Hi there, I'm White rose who has 'crossed over' from Viggo works to see what MeJ is all about. May take me a little while to find my way around. I'm not sure my Tolkien knowledge will be up to much
, but I may learn something
Great to see some names from the 'other side'
Anyway I am on New Zealand time so I'm off to bed now
White rose
Oh there's more emoticons here
Great to see some names from the 'other side'

Greetings, White Rose! and what a lovely name.
I figure that everyone is a novice in regard to someone. There's lots to be learned by everyone here, which is cool, right?
Sing and be glad, all ye children of the West,
for your King shall come again,
and he shall dwell among you
all the days of your life.
for your King shall come again,
and he shall dwell among you
all the days of your life.

Thank you all for the welcome. Although I live in NZ I am English, from Yorkshire to be precise and the county flower of Yorkshire is the white rose...
Ref Tolkien, it's a while since I read the books so rather rusty. One thing I'd like to share though is how I think Tolkien brought in pieces of where he had been or read, into his books.
For example, in Beddgelert in North Wales there is Sygun copper mines. Just outside these mines is a hill called Dinas Emyrs where Welsh history has it that the red dragon (of Wales) fought the white dragon (of England) - the red dragon won, hence a red dragon is on the Welsh flag.
But doesn't that make you think of Smaug and the mines etc??? Anyway, not sure this should be posted here but I still don't know my way around yet. Will came back and play soon
