Yes i am! And so you found the answer...

In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort.

Phew! I thought I'd gone around the bend. :dizzy:

Level I

What time of the year was it when Bilbo and Gandalf came back to Beorn's house.

Extra: What time of year did they leave Beorn's house?

Didn't really need a hint, just time, eh?

It was Mid-Winter when they arrived back at Beorn's house, and spent a very merry Yule there(which is very apropos), not leaving until spring (which seems very sensible to me).

Now, my question...

What's the riddle to which "time" is the answer?

Ah! Gollum's last question in the riddle contest:
This thing all things devours:
Birds, beasts, trees, flowers;
Gnaws iron, bites steel;
Grinds hard stones to meal;
Slays king, ruins town,
And beats high mountain down.
Bilbo couldn't think of an answer, and was so frightened to see Gollum creeping up on him hungrily that all he could do was squeak out, "Time, time!" Which, fortunately, just happened to be the answer.

Assuming I am correct, here's my level 1 question:

Who is "Moneybags"?

haha... do you mean the politicians of the European and American states? No.. o... then i think this is what you are looking for, namely the Master of Lake-town:
"We will have King Bard!" the people near at hand shouted in reply. "We have had enough of the old men and the money-counters!" And people further off took up the cry: "Up the Bowman and down with Moneybags," till the clamour echoed along the shore.

Oops... were you all waiting?

Ok here is a new level 3 question:

Who had the nickname "Gabriel"?

Hint: i'm not looking for a character from inside the books. This person also had another nickname which was more common used.

This might turn into a '20 questions' exercise! Was it a real person? An Inkling?
Sing and be glad, all ye children of the West,
for your King shall come again,
and he shall dwell among you
all the days of your life.

Okay! Well, in my opinion, these three would be JRRT, CSL, and Charles Williams. Right?
