Np. it isn't, althoug it could have been him. It is some-one from the fellowship, who is for the first time really on his own (with all of the others from the fellowship gone in different directions), and now he has no choice as to follow another leader, who he has sworn to follow.......
I hope this helps - I didn't think it was so hard, but this is because I like this sentence. For me it shows one of the strenght of LOTR. The heroes here (and all of the Fellowship, big and small, are heroes) never are lonely heroes, but they always seek company, a community. All important victories are group efforts.

Great quote Elorin :D
For I must go where he goes now
Merry speaks thus after Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas leave for the Paths of the Dead and he considers being alone and having now to follow King Theoden.

Are we in need of a clue perhaps?? These were wise words spoken amongst the Three Hunters.

This is favourite line for me for it speaks to me of sacrifice for the greater good of all :D

Hope, I believe that Aragorn says this, but I can't remember the situation or who he says it to.

Aragorn is speaking to Gimli and Legolas about Gandalf as Gimli questions Gandalfs foresight into the future of the Fellowship due to him being lost in Moria.

Hint: The speaker and one spoken to were on a horse when this was said.

I'm guessing . . . Gandalf to Pippin?? at work, so no books to hand . . .
"Torment in the dark was the danger that I feared, and it did not hold me back.
But I would not have come, had I known the danger of light and joy."

OK . . . the only quote I have to hand at present is the one I use in my signature. So, who said:

"Torment in the dark was the danger that I feared, and it did not hold me back.
But I would not have come, had I known the danger of light and joy."
"Torment in the dark was the danger that I feared, and it did not hold me back.
