I love the tree! That's the tree I've doodled at boring faculty meetings for thirteen years now! The grasses are good, too. And that is one of my favorite Tolkien poems--it's almost a prayer. You have chosen the very best for this collection.
Somehow, though, I think there should be some real stars for Elbereth, too.

Sing and be glad, all ye children of the West,
for your King shall come again,
and he shall dwell among you
all the days of your life.
for your King shall come again,
and he shall dwell among you
all the days of your life.

One of my favourite poems too!!!
I love all of it except the little white flowers bending in front of the inset which interfere with the main flower too much - perhaps they are too tall? It makes the large white flower in the inset look as though it's fighting for space instead of being the main attraction. You could try scattering them in the green grass so they are there but not detracting too much? Perhaps just overlapping the rim here and there.
Just a suggestion
. It's wonderful how much you've achieved with these

Now let the song begin! Let us sing together
Of sun, stars, moon and mist, rain and cloudy weather...

I love the colours Riv, and agree with the other comments. Looking forward to seeing the next draft!

I love the changes, too! Perhaps a slightly darker sky, so the stars leap out a bit more? Seems incongruous to see stars in the daytime sky . . .

Lovely, Riv! The famous green door of Bag End that launched two great adventures . . . . Part of me wishes that the perspective was less dead-on, so that we could see the road winding away in the distance. But I realize that you want the perfectly round door to be your "Ring" in this picture, and if you scew the perspective to show the road leading away from the door, you will lose the roundness of the door. I am content.
Just one quick little typo correction: And I must follow, IF I can.

So do I - it 's very striking. Has a kind of Art Nouveau feeling, so appropriate for Tolkien!Iolanthe wrote:I love the beautifully styled metalwork around the central doorknob.

Very nice! Good stonework steps, too.
What a wonderful accomplishment, Riv Res! This has been so fun for all of us. Have you thought about which picture is which month for the calendar?
