Lettiing it happen is exactly what I've tried to do here , Merry - I'm so glad you said that! I've let the paint spread pretty much where it wants to - cerulean blue top left and bottom right for sky and ice, and random blobs of burnt sienna along the diagonal. When it dried I looked at the result to find the members of the fellowship - Aragorn and Frodo first, and the pony's head & hind quarters - which told me where Gimli and Gandalf were. I also found Boromir's head and shoulders. . . and fitted the others in from there!Merry wrote: This represents, I think, a new level of artistic quality for you, one in which you're not fighting the medium, but letting it happen.
