It definitely is from the end of RoTK Riv. I bet your right. At first my hunch was Butterbur after he was told by Gandalf and the Hobbits of the fate of the outside world. Remember he was hoping this new King could clean up the bad influences in Bree. I could look it up...to lazy right now though. :roll:

Riv Res, as usual you are correct!

Philipa the sentiment could be Butterbur, but the language is a bit too archaic I think. If I see "older" English I assume "not Hobbit or associates"! :D
