I think that was Hirgon, the bearer of the symbolic Red Arrow from Minas Tirith, to Theoden.

I've been waiting to see if anyone else would bite!

From memory I think this is Lobelia Sackville-Baggins being taken off to the lockholes.

Am I close?

Yes, I like that bit too Merry!

OK, this is a bit more difficult (or it would be for me!)

As a guess (no Hobbit handy) I'd say it was the Eagles rescuing the dwarves, Bilbo & Gandalf from the goblins & wolves? (or wargs?) -- dropping them off near Beorn's house

Who says:
What do you think of that, Gandalf? One would say that all the Wizard's Vale was burning.

Need a hint? It is not Gandalf!

I had to think about this for a while, but I think it's Aragorn talking to Gandalf on the road to Isengard. Am I right???
