There is so much to the imagined Hall of Fire that I think it may only be possible to capture a corner of it truly well. LOL...maybe every year I could do a new corner.

There could be a whole calendar there  .

Seriously though - it's a tricky subject. But I know you'll come up with something that we'd all like to spend hours in!

That is my thought exactly Iolanthe! I have almost decided to do Bilbo's Poet's Corner in the Hall of Fire, but there are dozens of other options as well.

Lindariel has a great little story that illustrates all of the various details that the Hall of Fire has to offer the artist. Perhaps we can entice her to post it here.

This is lovely, what a wonderful place to share music and, of course, sing - thanks for sharing that Lindariel :D . And I would love to see Bilbo's Corner. Something homely in the midst of that great place!

Been beginning to work on Bilbo's Poet's Corner in The Hall of Fire. This scan is only the center of the piece, but you can see the concept. Much more detail on all four sides of the piece, but my scanner is too small to catch it all.

Oh, Riv! This is lovely. Could I please transplant it to my office? I'd much rather work in Bilbo's lovely Poet's Corner with the warm hearth, the comfy chair, the just right table, the bookshelves, and the secretary -- and is that a combination window and skylight? It would be heaven!

Yes. The more I thought about it, the more I thought that one could not work and write properly by firelight alone. Hence the addition of a big window and atrium overhead glass.

I think "Oof!" is a great way to indtroduce Mithrandir, Lindariel!! :D Continuing to enjoy this tale very much.

At last I have another Tolkien-related painting to post here. I think this one might be going along to Oxonmoot with me . . . :

I confess I've had a sneak preview of this painting and I love it! Definitely one for Oxonmoot - I'm pretty sure no one has ever thought to paint this before. I think it's lovely to have something that celebrates the healing of the Shire and Galadriel's gift :D :clapping:.

Lindariel - I love your heroine seeing the Far Country through Gandalf's eyes:
...beyond the great swell of blue, there was a crystal curtain of mist, and then the beautiful sparkling white shores of a fair green island.
I'm thoroughly enjoying every chapter!

I love the new painting, marbretherese! I have always loved that part of the book for the new hope that it brings after such a long and bitter struggle. You have captured it so very well. Bravo!!

Still catching up on Lindariel's chapters.

What a gorgeous mallorn tree, marbretherese! I'm sure the folks at Oxenmoot will LOVE this painting.

Have no fear, Riv! I'll wait until tomorrow to post the next installment and let you catch up!

Thanks ladies for your kind comments about my latest painting. I've just posted a blog about it at http://marbretherese.blogspot.com/ if you would like to find out more about it - I can only manage a couple of entries a month but I'm trying to make them worthwhile articles!

Heads Up!

Later today, I will seperate out Lindariel's wonderful writings into a thread for that purpose only. We have elected to create specific threads for any qualified writers so that their work remains intact and we are able to easily and readily discuss it.

PLEASE...anyone wishing to post their poetry or prose here...PM me and I will create you own personal thread for you.

This leaves the art thread (which I will rename) focused on the visual arts.

Since all of this will be in the Members' Art and Poetry: Members Only forum, any contributions will remain Members Only. :D

WOW! Thanks so much, Riv and Mods! My writing thread over at the former WRoR was called Visions from the Hall of Fire. I really appreciate the opportunity to keep the story, and any resulting discussion, together in one place!
