Re: New Calendar of the Month
Parmastahir, what a wonderful wonderful site! I could spend many happy hours looking through all the calendars.
Would you might if I put a link to it on the other Tolkien site I frequent, www.councilofelrond.com?

Hello Elegaer -
I'm glad you like the new website. Thank you for the high praise.
Of course you may place a link on the CoE site. I post there, also, in the Collecting forum in the Tolkien Calendar Collecting thread (where else?!) that I started (big suprise, huh?)

Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to deal out death in judgement. For even the very wise can not see all ends.

May CotM
Hello to all -
It had been a while (OK, a long while.) But I have reinstituted the Calendar of the Month feature on my new website:
www.tolkiencalendars.com
The CotM for May is the 2009 Middle-earth New Zealand calendar. My intent is to post these for a month, then create a permanent page upon which to display them. The monthly illustrations from almost all of the previous CotM features can now be found throughout the many entries. Hope you enjoy this one.

I wanted to share a link with you all. This fella is a member of Tor.n and posts his art there occasionally. His name is Terry Ernest and I really think his art work of Tolkien's players is unique. Take a look.

Be sure to check out his 'other work' too.

Wow! A lot of different styles there! I've seen his 'Old Man of the Woods' before somewhere
. I love his Conversation with a Dragon, Gwaihir and Shelob, not so keen on his Hobbits. But - I think Hobbits are the hardest thing to satisfy others with, they never look like how we imagine them somehow! I don't think I've 'cracked' Hobbits yet myself.
I like 'The Great Adventure' too where he has images from the whole story in the picture

I never cease to be amazed at how many wonderful artists are inspired by Tolkien and the unique differences in their styles and work.Philipa wrote:I wanted to share a link with you all. Created a new Calendar of the Month for July on the homepage of:
www.tolkiencalendars.com
It is a VERY rare calendar, and one that is unique in my collection because of the format. Hope you enjoy it and comments welcome!
Happy Summer to all!

This one's a little gem, Parmastahir! I really like it - some of those landscapes could have been drawn by Tolkien himself. Thank you!

Wow - that is a rarity! You must have been thrilled when you found that one, Parmastahir. Some of the illustrations and the calligraphy are very Tolkien like and I especially like the illustration for Lairë.
It's great that you can now showcase these Calendar's of the Month in a way that really makes a feature of them.
