Where were the Houses of healing located in the city?
Gotta LOVE that Fonstad.

Then, why was it called 'the White City'?

Because it indeed was completely made of white stone...except for the outer wall of the first level.

I believe the current question is about the location of the Houses of Healing?
" They stood not far from the Citadel-gate, in the sixth circle, nigh to its southward wall, and about them was a garden and a greensward with trees, the only such place in the City."
Next question:
who is the subject of this poem? "An Elven-maid there was of old"

Really, no stabs at this one?

Pardon us for letting this one languish, serinde! This really is a stab, since I don't always read the poetry very carefully. Is it Niphredil?

Ironically enough, the Lay/Song of Nimrodel uses that line as the first line of the song. I'm totally stumped if the answers not Nimrodel. Can't wait to see who it was. I've looked and I can't find it.

My sincerest apologies ~~ you are correct
(thanks to Philipa for pointing out my error, ever so graciously; my only excuse is that it had been so long since I posed the question that I forgot the answer!)

I did too!
Ufthak definitely has a orcish name. I had to go digging for this one too. He's the orc for the Tower of Cirith Ungol.
Question: Where is Ravenhill?
Bonus: What is it's significients?

Yes--he's one of them. Shagrat and Gorbag talk about him--just for kicks, not part of the game--anyone know what happened to him?
