And we love Rangers from the North, don't we? :D Make yourself at home!
Sing and be glad, all ye children of the West,
for your King shall come again,
and he shall dwell among you
all the days of your life.

Have we started Fellowship yet? Let me know where to go and if I need to catch up! And I will! This is one of those hidden camera shows isn't it? Cause this is the coolest thing ever!

Take care,
Ranger

Yes, Ranger, I think we are talking about the chapter called 'Strider'--coincidence? Check it out in the 'Lord of the Rings' thread below.

An appropriate question for the season

Post by Starmast »

Sorry if this post does not belong here but it's only my second attempt - yikes.
My daughter Julia (won't read books but watches LOTR movies with me faithfully and adores David Wenham) is a freshman at Hamilton College in upstate NY, where an amusing satirical paper called "The Daily Bull" is published. On holiday break she brought home all the back issues. On the front page of the 12/12 issue, at the bottom where the editorial staff is listed, I found this gem: "Wonders if Santa's elves are Noldor or Sindar: Lord Apolon"

All hail Lord Apolon!

Oh, that's great, Starmast! I wonder how many of those college students get it?
Sing and be glad, all ye children of the West,
for your King shall come again,
and he shall dwell among you
all the days of your life.

Greetings all!

I'm Airwin, novice Tolkien lover and located in the Misty Mountains (or Northern California). I was introduced to fantasy and Lord of the Rings by Peter Jackson, and the books shortly after watching TT. I still haven't decided which I like better and have given up trying. I've since read the trilogy (as well as the other books in order) several times and keep finding new story connections I missed before. I guess you could say I am now addicted to everything Rings (much to the chagrin of my hubbie).

Looking forward to making some (hopefully) meaningful contributions to your discussions on my favorite subject!
Namarie,
