Dunadan?
Sing and be glad, all ye children of the West,
for your King shall come again,
and he shall dwell among you
all the days of your life.

Sorry ..... I'm holding up the game

I started the battle of Nirnaeth Arnoediad. Who am I and what caused me to do it?

This was the last and 5th of the battles in the Sil. That battle had so much going on :dizzy: but it was started by Morgoth against Fingon. I seem to recall though it wasn't until Fingon's host made it to Angband's Gate that the battle truly started. Morgoth let loose with a huge army and the Western Union had many casualties. It's a long drawn out thing and lines were certainly changed when the dust settled. Battle of Unnumbered Tears was it not?

Correct in that Morgoth began the campaign when he marched against the western army of the Union commanded by Fingon.

However, the battle actually started when Gwindor, enraged by the mutilation and murder of his brother, broke ranks with Fingon's alignment at Eithel Sirion and, followed by the main part of the western army, drove Morgoth back to the Gate of Angband in just three days.

Your turn. :D

Philipa, didn't the Noldor give them the name Sindar?

I believe they were a part of the Teleri branch

Okey, dokey ...

This is kind of a related cluster of questions.

 Who was the fifth King of Númenor?
 Who was his father?
 How many siblings did he have?
 What were their names?
 Which sibling bore a son from whom eventually came the lines of the Kings of Gondor and Arnor?

This was said about me

"His hair was of shining gold, his face fair and young and fearless and full of joy. His eyes were bright and keen, and his voice like music. On his brow sat wisdom and in his hand was strength."
