Hello again dear ones,

I am sorry to have been absent so long and not to have taken the time to check in with all of you. I discovered that my significant other was abusing drugs and had to organize an intervention. I nearly lost him to the drugs but the person who was once him prior to the addiction was still strong enough to come to help. I think the crossing the Plains of Gorgoroth resonates with all of us who have found ourselves in the darkest, longest night. I can witness to the fact that there is always hope and when things seem so hopeless and lost it is when we must remind ourselves that despair is not an option; where there is love there is hope.

Thank you all for your wonderful support. The healing has begun and we will seek to make things right again. Hold Gandalf's words dear to you, that despair is only when all ends are known. As we have read, not even the very wise can see all ends. We must trust in hope and endevour to do what is given to us. Again, many thanks.

Hello to all

I'm dropping in for the second time after a considerably long hiatus (read: PC crashed) to introduce myself and let you all know that I'll be lurking around this great place for a while until I catch up with you, or at least understand a bit more, and I'm sure, then, I'll have the courage to post any of my ideas. You guys are way ahead of me! My name is Sahara and I'm an avid Tolkien geek since 2000. I still have a lot to understand although I have read LOTR (plus Appendixes, a couple of times), The Hobbit, Unfinished tales, The Letters (great for reference), Shippey's biography, and my favorite: The Sil (twice, and still not "getting" many parts). I find myself having to reread a lot, especially names of people and places; and what did who do, and what was where...

I am very happy to be here. Thanks for the invitation, RivRes.

Welcome to MeJ Sahara :waving: I'm glad you are up and running again. No computer access can be maddening. :x

I know what you mean. I've not read some of these titles you've mentioned and somedays I'm overwhelmed myself. If there is one thing I've been attracted to here at MeJ is learning more about Tolkien and his world. You certainly don't have to be a total Tolkien geek to have fun at MeJ. :D

Welcome Sahara, one simply begins with the first step out of one's door. There are many levels of discussion and knowlege, one chooses at what level one is comfortable, and more importantly, where one enjoys the most. Have fun and I look forward to your thoughts.

Once again, welcome to M-eJ, Kel! Expertise in the Silmarillian is always welcome here--some of us find it quite baffling. And we'd love to see more of your artwork.

We are a small group here, so I'm sure you'll get to know us quickly. You might also enjoy paging through the Great Years Calendar at your leisure.

Thank
