Lucky guess!

Going along with The Hobbit, what does Tolkien tell us is the one fault of Thranduil's people, the Woodelves?

I suppose that could be seen as a fault, Michka, but the fault I have in mind is right from the narrator's voice in The Hobbit.

Joining the Last Alliance was a dangerous action for the Elves, but I'm not sure I would call it a fault. Without the Elves there, would there have been any hope of even a temporary victory against Sauron?

I apologize: I think my question was too precise! The answer I'm looking for comes at the end of the 'Flies and Spiders' chapter, in which the narrative says, "If they have a fault, it is . . .".

Sorry to have been away so long! You get the point on this one, Michka, since I think I asked a bad question! It appears there is more than one answer to the question, but the quote on which I based the question was that Thranduil's one fault was mistrust of strangers. It appears that he had more than one fault!

Your turn--

I don't know the answer, but I can translate:

What is the peak in the place south of the mountain of the Desolation of Smaug called?

Time to look at a map!

Oh, no: as I read the thread above, it seems I broke a promise! Apologies, Michka! I still don't know the answer (I'm terrible at map reading  ), but I have a nice new question for the season:

Where was Bilbo during Yule of 2941?
