Hello Kelkhatan, welcome to the forum and hope to hear from your often. I too find the Silmarillian facinating and a very under-represented forum. Please feel free to add to forums that have been idle and if I can add some thoughts I will endevour to strike up a few brains cells.

Hi, I'm french, and I'm sorry but my english ist not very good, it's good enought for read you, but for wrigting... upps...
I know this forum for a long time, but I never dared to cross the step to be registered  :?

I must also admit, I have to ignore the LotR books, for a long time, how long? many years and didn´t read it. So many people recommended it but... NO!
I ignore also why???!

Then the movies came out. I saw FotR and was overwhelmed!!
Not only because of PJ´s beautiful transformation, but of the story itself.
I love fantasy, I remember also the first Harry Potter film came to the movies about the same time, but I have read the Harry Potter book a long time(99) befor the movies! I love HP, it is a adorable bewitching fairy tale, but....nothing compared to LotR.
The profoundness..., the richness of storytelling...
I have see the firts movie and I started to read the books! And what a journey awaited me. I could beat myself now for not reading it sooner.
I wanted to know more about this wonderful man who was able to bring a whole new world to me. I have read the books now many times, and I read again regularly.
And I have read several books (biograpy particularly) in french, on Prof. Tolkien, have also read the Letters, and finaly especially I love also the art from and of Lotr, expecially from John Hove and Allan Lee.
I like make drawings and paintings about Lotr  :P

It´s great of you all to open this forum and I hope I can find time to participate and posting regularly... even my bad english... :(
I wanted meet this wonderful man who was able to bring a whole new world to me : Pr. Tolkien!
I would say him how many I love the story and its philosophy which results from this ... In spite of the fact that I am French :? : I love you Pr Tolkien!

Bienvenue, Cheyenne Angel! Your English is fine! I like what you said about how profound the works are: most of us have read them multiple times and still find something new to think about and enjoy. So I hope you will feel right at home with us!
