that's cheating, Iolanthe, and you know you don't mean it!!! my next pic is also of Aragorn (or to be more accurate of Strider) and if I can attempt to show him from the front so can you, although mine won't be ready for some time I'm afraid as things are a bit hectic with me right now . . .

As there seems to be a bit of an Aragorn theme starting here, how about a poem about the Ranger? We haven't had a poem for, well,
ages.......

Because I really feel I ought, I've started an Aragorn poem

. I think it will be a
long time before anyone sees it though - longer, possibly, than seeing Aragorn with the Palantir which has now gone through 4 drafts and is filling up my wastepaper bin

Yes! Those are possibly the best mallorns I've ever seen! The leaves kind of remind me of aspens, my favorite tree. Beautiful colors, as always. Now that I study it, though, I think I have imagined the falls of Nimrodel as a bit gentler--not so tall. I'm not sure why I've imagined it that way. I'll have to go back to the texts.
Iolanthe, school is over in four weeks. I'll start an Aragorn poem then to keep you company!

Lovely colours Riv! the golds and the gentle blue complement each other perfectly.
Merry, I've also started an Aragorn poem - to accompany my next painting - but I have no idea when (or if) either of them will see the light of day!

Those leaves look exactly like gold leaves do seen against the sky when sunlight streams straight through them. Lovely! The gold/yellow on blue is beautiful

.
Wow - we could have
three Aragorn poems. Lucky man!

New Poetry/Art Sketch
"There is an inn, a merry old inn
beneath an old grey hill,
And there they brew a beer so brown
That the Man in the Moon himself came down
one night to drink his fill."

Oh, how wonderful! Even uncolored, this makes me feel the joy of Middle-earth!
