I think the question is what is the oldest script? The oldest language is Valarian from which both Primitive Quendian and Khuzdal derived. Tolkien invented Quenya around 1915. It is my best logical quess that since the Professor was most intrested a serious study of a language, Quendian never eixisted very long as a oral tradition. The written form is named Tengwar of Rumil, the later letters the Tengwar of Feanor became the language of the Edain and Numenorians. The runic form of Tengwar of Rumil is Tiw, or Cirth, scratced or incised inscriptions.

Both were men, had the friendship of the Elves and dwarves, and could speak the elven tongue. Both lived under the protection of the Eldar ( Túrin with King Thingol, Aragorn w/ Elrond) when young, both wandered for years and considered outlaws by those not knowledgeable of their history. Both were skilled in warfare and carried a great weapon, Túrin had Anglachel, Aragorn had Andúril.

The Old Forest Road through Mirkwood figured prominently in The Hobbit and is mentioned throughout the history of Middle-earth. It was also known as the Dwarf Road, so named after the race that built it.
What is the Sindarin name for this same road?

Is it Emyn Engrin?

Sorry...no. "Engrin" is Sindarin for iron. We will get much closer if we concentrate on
who built the road.
