Are you perhaps referring to Vilya, the greatest of the three elven rings?
Made for elves, not men,
By Celebrimbor
Last worn by Elrond
Its partner rings are Nenya and Narya
Its stone is sapphire in color

This is a level 1 question:
It cannot be seen, cannot be felt,
Cannot be heard, cannot be smelt.
It lies behind stars and under hills,
And empty holes it fills.
It comes first and follows after,
Ends life, kills laughter.
Identify the answer, the characters for whom the answer was very important, and the precarious situation associated with it.

Dark
This riddle is from the chapter "Riddles in the Dark". Gollum and Bilbo give each other riddles to answer. Bilbo must answer correctly in order for Gollum to show him the way out of the underground caves or be eaten!

Are you Tol Brandir? If so you sit amidst the Anduin between the hills Amon Hen and Amon Lhaw. Amongst the Dunedain, Tol Brandir is unique in that it's slopes are so steep that no man has ever climbed them.

Busy days, Riv Res! Don't you just love May?
I'll start us off, I hope: didn't he give the Druadan forest to Ghan-buri-ghan and his people? (Did I spell this right?)

Merry yes he did.
In addition, he gave the Shire to the Hobbits. And, didn't he give Rohan to Eomer and all his descendants?

Rohan had been granted its own kingdom under the authority of Cirion, Steward of Gondor. Treebeard had been granted Isengard and Orthanc. Faramir was given Ithilien, and to the slaves of Mordor all the lands surrounding Lake Nurnen.
Brooklyn was later established by, Forgetaboutit, the Restless.

Bruce, I thought that was spelled 'Fuhgetaboutit'.

A distant descendent of Castamir the Usurper?
