:D Hi Merry, yes you are correct for the first part.

Henneth Annun was changed during the reign of Turin II of Gondor. They blocked off the roof of the cave through which the falls fell to create a curtain of water over the refuge.
The falls fell down into the Forbidden Pool where Gollum was eventually captured by the Rangers of Ithlien.

I'm afraid Mablung is not correct, another go perhaps :D

Thanks, Marilyn. You have been patient!

Level 1: Who said, "The world is indeed full of peril, and in it there are many dark places; but still there is much that is fair, and though in all lands love is now mingled with grief, it grows perhaps the greater"? (One of my favorite Tolkien quotes!)

Merry, PJ would have had Galadriel who said such moving words. Yet, it was Haldir to Merry on their way to Lothlorien.

Yes, indeed, Bruce--your turn!

Tolkien really loved Elves, I think: even ordinary border patrol cops like Haldir are philosophers and poets!

Keeping in the philosophic; who said, "Don't let your heads grow too big for your hats! But if you don't finish growing up soon you'll finds hats and clothes expensive."

Here's a nice level one question: How were Frodo and Pippin related?

I'm going to be away from my computer for a few days, so take your time!
