OK, I found it just where I expected it! I just couldn't remember WHICH of the dwarves said it off the top of my head.
Bifur says, "And winter comes after autumn," to Thorin as Bilbo and the Dwarves are sitting together in "On the Doorstep" trying to figure out what to do now that they have arrived and set up their camp at the Lonely Mountain.
Who said, "Not far enough!"

Well done, Lindariel! Unfortunately, I have absolutely no clue about your quote, either!

Sorry Michka, but it is not a quote by Thorin.

Sorry Michka, it isn't a quote by Gandalf either.
Another clue -- a splash is involved.

Michka, you have identified the correct character, so I'm going to give this one to you. I didn't realize Bilbo said "Not far enough" in TWO places!
The quote I was referring to comes in the chapter "Flies and Spiders" when Bilbo and the dwarves are trying to figure out a way to bring the boat across the black river. Bilbo comes up with the idea to attach a hook to the end of a rope, throw it into the boat, and pull it across. Fili's first attempt at throwing the hook and rope falls short into the water, and Bilbo cries out, "Not far enough!"
Your turn!

I can translate Michka's quote, but I don't know who said it! "I do not choose the paths of peril." Anybody else know?

Merry and Michka, I believe I have found the quote.
Aragorn says this to Eowyn at Dunharrow in response to her question, "Aragorn, why will you go on this deadly road?"
"Because I must," he said. "Only so can I see any hope of doing my part in the war against Sauron. I do not choose paths of peril, Eowyn. Were I to go where my heart dwells, far in the North I would now be wandering in the fair valley of Rivendell."
Is that correct, Michka?
