Oh, Philipa, I'm terrible at this! But maybe I'll goad somebody into the right answer by my awful guesses. (I've always thought that we ought to try to answer trivia questions from memory rather than from research.)

So was the beginning of the Peace when Morgoth was imprisoned by the Valar?
Sing and be glad, all ye children of the West,
for your King shall come again,
and he shall dwell among you
all the days of your life.

Well, that was just dumb luck!

Level 2:

What was the name of the knife that Beren used to cut the Silmaril from Morgoth's crown?
Sing and be glad, all ye children of the West,
for your King shall come again,
and he shall dwell among you
all the days of your life.

Telchar's handiwork again looms large in all of the ages. Think of a distant cousin of Sting.

Yes, it was, Riv Res! Wasn't it lucky that Beren had a knife named 'Iron Cleaver' when Morgoth's crown was made of iron? What if it had been 'Gold Cleaver' or 'Butter Cleaver'?

Your turn!
Sing and be glad, all ye children of the West,
for your King shall come again,
and he shall dwell among you
all the days of your life.

Oh, my gosh, I didn't realize! And it's been a month! Thanks for the reminder, Philipa.

Here's an easy one: What does TCBS stand for?
Sing and be glad, all ye children of the West,
for your King shall come again,
and he shall dwell among you
all the days of your life.

OK let's have some dwarf trivia...a multiple choice perhaps?

The Hobbit is the resource.

Was Dwalin the first, second or third born to his father.

Bonus question;

What was his father's name.

No takers huh? OK the answer was the second son.

The bonus answer is Fundin.

Next trivia question is a level 2

What is the elvish word for 'orcs'?

Hint: the answer is found in the chapter which is being discussed in another forum.
