Happy Easter to all! :flower:

Hope you are having a feast worthy of Bilbo's pantry and at least dreaming of a spring like in his garden!

Did you both enjoy Easter? It was a warm spring day so I was able to be outside for much of it. :D Glad to read your days are sunnier too Michka.

Welcome back, hope! Things are quiet here, but we soldier on! I believe there are some plans for renewel in the fall. In the meantime, have you seen the new 'Desolation of Smaug' trailer?

vu la bande annonce et mise en appêtit pour le 2ème volet! espère le dragon plus effrayant et intense que dans cette annonce, Bilbo toujours aussi bon, et découverte d'autres personnages ''inventés'' pour la bonne cause, je suppose(?)

Glad you saw the trailer, Michka! I'm going to ask that we discuss this over in the Hobbit thread, just to keep things orderly. I'll respond to your post over there! :D

Congratulations to the elder Miss L, who graduated from high school on Saturday, June 7, 2014. She has been accepted to the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, VA, for the fall term! :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:

Is this the same Miss L who joined us for a season or so a few years ago? That's wonderful news! Best wishes to her.

Yes Merry, this is Meliel, all grown up and getting ready to go to college! She wants to teach English and Creative Writing at the high school level, so she's enrolling in a 5-year program at the University of Mary Washington that will result in an M.Ed and a B.A. English with a Creative Writing emphasis. :clapping:

Do you remember her December 25 poem about Gandalf and the Balrog, along with her Balrog drawing for our first Yule contest? Seems like yesterday, doesn't it?

I do remember that, Lindariel! Her degree program sounds perfect for her.

We don't really have a holiday thread here, so I'll share this here.

The younger Miss L and I made Reindeer Cookies today for the first time. Take a look! https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid ... to_comment

They turned out really well and were very easy to make. We used pre-made sugar cookie dough as the base.

:D :clapping:

I think the different eye colors are especially cute! :clapping:

Not much time for anything Christmas-y here yet: my last final exam is today and I am slammed with grading. I do have all my shopping done, mostly online ordering, but no baking, wrapping, decorating, or cards yet. Yikes!

I got the vast majority of the wrapping done today. I still have some shopping to do, and we'll hopefully decorate the tree tonight. Taking the elder MIss L to do her shopping tonight, and the younger MIss L tomorrow. I'll get the rest of my sneaky shopping done tomorrow while the younger Miss L is at school for her last day of the year.
