Glad it hasn't freaked you out too much!
While we're taking a walk on the dark side, how about Middle-earth Monsters as a new theme? Although if anyone is still labouring over a Gandalf creation I'd still love to see / read it of course
.
I have a Shelob painting in mind but as a complete arachnaphobe it will be a miracle if I can get it down on paper
. Might be good therapy!

Now let the song begin! Let us sing together
Of sun, stars, moon and mist, rain and cloudy weather...

Well, I've got Shelob out of my head and onto paper. Not sure it's made me any happier looking at spiders, even shoving her off to the far right and calling it Cirith Ungol
.

Now I've exorcised my dark side how about something Elvish?

I seem to be getting more abstract the more I do

When dealing with spiders, the more abstract, the better! It has just occurred to me, Iolanthe, that your art would translate well into stained glass--both form and color have that style. Not that we'd want stained glass of Shelob! But this makes the darkness look lovely.
Iolanthe! What a treat it is to have you here. We get to see original Tolkien artwork, and your insights into other artists have really allowed me to understand them and Tolkien better. Many thanks!

Sing and be glad, all ye children of the West,
for your King shall come again,
and he shall dwell among you
all the days of your life.

and he shall dwell among you
all the days of your life.

Aulë and Yavanna
Hi guys,
I am new to this homepage, but not new to Tolkien's world. And so I decided to share with you some stuff inspired by the greatest writer in my eyes.
Here it is:
(I took a photo from my scratch book, and than I colored it.)
Aulë and Yavanna

This was in a time before the elves set foot on Middle-earth, where Aulë and Yavanna could still enjoy there love for each other. And it can still be seen in the forgotten forests of corsica.
Greetings Kel
PS. I already uploaded a big version for you guys, on my Server so that it won't trash yours

Hello Kel
, I'm so glad you've joined us and posted some of your art. The more here the merrier
. It's nice to see something inspired by the earliest days of Middle-earth - it's lovely. I hope you've go more in your sketch-book to show us! I can see you've used a lot of techniques and mediums to get the effect. How did you do the grass at the bottom? Is it white ink or pencil or scratching out? See, I like to know these things!!!
If there are such things in the 'forgotten forests of Corsica' it must be a very beautiful place

Welcome, Kelkhatan! I also appreciate your tree. Like Tolkien's Niggle, I find myself sketching trees and their leaves in the margins of things at boring meetings, so I enjoyed yours.

Concerning the artwork:
-I have to admit, the true art is only drawn with pencil, for better illustation I colored it in the trial version of PhotoshopI can see you've used a lot of techniques and mediums to get the effect. How did you do the grass at the bottom?

Greetings

ok, I give you the first poem
Morniel (means "dark maiden" in elvish)
Pitch black…
Fog and night get pierced by eyes
Sparkling, clad in black there lies
A maiden born by night itself
Stunning, flawless, nature’s wealth.
Pitch black…
